Hey guys,

 

Well things have been moving forward since the New Year.

I apologize for the lack of weekly updates to the meeting notes section.

I will do my best here to summarize what has been going on.

 

We have had some really great meetings. 

We have seen some new faces join our group and a we have seen the return of some old friends who we have missed.

 

There have been several functions from the Joint Party with the PMG and the HMG at the 477 to a spectacular murder mystery and a movie night.

 

Coming up we have brunch on Feb. 8 and a Pot Luck on the 14th. Other things to look fwd to include a group trip to the New England Aquarium a Disco Party and trip to see writer David Sedaris.  Lots of things are still in the planning stages so if you have ideas please let the activities committee know or stop by one of there meetings.

 

On the business side of things we do have new business cards if people are interested please let me know and I will make sure to get you some.

Also we have recently discussed the weekly donations and have decided to suspend them as we currently have enough money to meet the yearly expenses for 2009.

Hi guys some quick notes from last weeks meeting

 

Newport was a lot of fun and a good time was had by all.

 

People interested in the joint party with the HMG and PMG on December 27

should call Bruce @ 508-534-9273 and RSVP before 12/20.

The party is from 7-10pm @ a cost of $7 and there will be a cash bar.

Time 7:30 pm
Cost $20.00 for active members, $40.00 for guests
cost will cover soup or chowder, salad, entree, dessert, coffee, tax and gratuity.
A yankee swap will follow dessert. The theme is a gag gift or regifting.
Since the cost of the dinner will be applied to the groups debit card it is important to have the money deposited by Thursday December18.  Which means I will also need a count by this date.

Meeting of June 26th, 2008

 

                                     

Meeting chaired by Steve.    Dinner tonight will be at Golden Sails Chinese Restaurant and next week the group has decided on The Kansas City Steak House (in the Holiday Inn) for dinner.   The members each introduced themselves and told us their favorite Falmouth area restaurant.   Members reported on the last week’s events:   the Newport Secret Garden Tour and Sunday Brunch at The Beach House.  The Tour in Newport was a day trip with a visit to number of Newport homes with interesting and extremely varied garden styles.   The Brunch was a disappointment for those who attended; no lunch items were served at all and service was less than stellar.   The group will look at scheduling a brunch at Brax Landing next time. 

 

The Membership Committee reported that they have begun contacting non-participating members and that they have listed us on Craig’s List.   This has already produced one new member who was joining us this evening.    The Website Committee and the Activities Committee are scheduled to meet next week.    

 

It was reported that Mark and Mark’s phone number is now the number for the group and we are now back in the listings in the Cape Cod Times but they are no longer printing the listings weekly but only when “space permits”.   The Membership Committee is working on new business cards and a new  brochure, and Steve reported that he had  changed the listing for the group with the IRS.

 

Charlie agreed to be moderator at next weeks meeting and next week’s meeting would be followed by dinner at the Kansas City Steak House.    The group then adjourned for dinner.
